Phelwana Game Lodge is a 4-Star Safari Lodge and offers the ultimate combination of comfort and luxury – you will feel right at home!
This Private Reserve which is only 40 km from the Kruger National Park Orpen Gate, offers undisturbed, lush bushveld with free roaming wild animals and birdlife.
You can expect to see Wildebeest, Impala, Giraffe, Zebra, Nyala, Buffalo, Duiker, Rooi Hartebeest, Reed buck, Warthog, Hippo, Waterbuck, and Kudu. Phelwana is also home to an abundance of bird species, including the Bateleur Eagle, Fish Eagle, Hornbill, Hoopoe, Pearl Spotted Owl, Sunbirds, Lilac-Breasted Rollers, Kingfishers, Starlings and many more.
Enjoy a magnificent, roaring fire in the African Boma each night (weather dependent) and an unobstructed view of the magnificent starry sky.
The lodge offers a variety of accommodation in luxury tents and bush villas (perfect for families with children) – all with private swimming or plunge pools.

Please note that Phelwana Game Lodge only allows children aged 6 years and older. However, we do have alternative accommodation available for families with younger children.

From experience we understand that frequent travellers belong to travel or mileage rewards programs and that they prefer to use these miles for their trips. However, we are happy to assist with your airfare bookings and itineraries at no additional cost.
We welcome guests of all ages!
- Children under 2 years will be on a complimentary basis with two sharing adults.
- Children aged 2 to 11 will be charged 50% of the adult rate.
- Children aged 12 and up are considered adults and will be charged the applicable adult rates.
- Single children will be charged the applicable 30% single supplement fee.
- Malaria – most areas in South Africa are low risk and seasonal, however, Kruger National Park is a moderate risk area and therefore preventatives are recommended. Please consult your medical practitioner or nearest travel clinic about malaria prophylaxis medicines. Common prophylactics include Doxicycline, Malanil, Mefliam, Malarone and Primaquine.
- Yellow Fever – a valid international yellow fever certificate is required for travellers over the age of 1 year old that is travelling from a Yellow Fever risk country or having been in transit for 12 hours or more at an airport in a country with a risk of Yellow Fever transmission.
For non-sharing guests, a 30% single supplement fee will be levied for any single adult/child on top of the applicable adult or child rate.
